Characteristics of pharmaceutical intermediate materials

Pharmaceutical intermediates are actually some chemical raw materials or products used in the process of drug synthesis. These chemical products do not require a drug production license and can be produced in ordinary chemical plants. As long as they reach certain levels, they can be used for drug synthesis.

Equipment characteristics of pharmaceutical intermediate dryer

The double cone rotary vacuum dryer is a drying equipment that integrates mixing and vacuum drying. The process of vacuum drying is to place the dried material in a sealed cylinder, and use a vacuum system to vacuum while continuously heating the dried material. This allows the water inside the material to diffuse to the surface through pressure or concentration differences. Water molecules (or other non condensable gases) gain sufficient kinetic energy on the surface of the material, and after overcoming the mutual attraction between molecules, they diffuse to the low-pressure space of the vacuum chamber, The separation from the solid is completed by being pumped away by a vacuum pump. Therefore, the double cone rotary vacuum dryer exhibits the following characteristics:

(1) During the vacuum drying process, the pressure inside the cylinder is always lower than atmospheric pressure, with a small number of gas molecules, low density, and low oxygen content, which can dry easily oxidized drugs and reduce the chances of material contamination.

(2) Due to the direct ratio between temperature and steam pressure during the vaporization process of moisture content, during vacuum drying, the moisture content in the material can vaporize at low temperatures, achieving low-temperature drying, which is particularly suitable for the production of drugs with heat sensitive materials.

(3) Vacuum drying can eliminate the surface hardening phenomenon that is easy to occur during atmospheric hot air drying. This is because the pressure difference between the inside and surface of the vacuum dried material is large, and under the pressure gradient, water quickly moves towards the surface without surface hardening.

(4) Due to the small temperature gradient between the inside and outside of the material during vacuum drying, the moisture can be moved and collected independently due to reverse osmosis, effectively overcoming the dispersion phenomenon caused by hot air drying.

Theory shows that the device also has the following characteristics: (1) constant heating temperature, increased vacuum degree, and faster rate; (2) The vacuum is constant, increasing the heating temperature accelerates the rate; (3) By increasing both the vacuum degree and the heating temperature, the rate is greatly accelerated. (4) Heating medium can be hot water or steam (steam pressure is between 0.40 and 0.50Mpa); (5) The inner wall of the dryer adopts a circular arc transition to avoid sanitary dead corners and solvent condensation and condensation, which can contaminate the logistics in a layer of material tray.
